Scattered Jewels of Southsea
Finneus was a farmer’s son, but he spent all his time down the road at the pub, trying to win the heart of Delilah. Her father owned the pub and she was enamored of every man who walked through its door, listening raptly as they told tales of adventure and intrigue, of far-off places and derring do. When he asked her to stay with him instead of follow her latest crush to who-knows-where, she sighed; she did not want his boring background and boring life. And she went. And Finneus decided that he didn’t want them either, and so he left, too. Finneus used all the stories he had heard and made himself a new man.
